Timbermill Wind is a $350 million investment in Chowan County and will be the county's largest taxpayer, once built. The project will create over 150 jobs during construction as well as long-term operations jobs and contractor needs through the life of the project. Wind farm construction is a very specialized process, but it requires common products and services, many of which can be found locally.
Apex recently selected Wanzek Construction as our Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for Timbermill Wind, which will begin construction this fall and throughout 2024. Our Construction Management team will be coordinating with Wanzek to hire workers and subcontractors to build the project. Many of these entities and individuals could be local to Chowan County and the surrounding region.
On Tuesday August 29th from 7:30 - 9:00 AM, the Edenton-Chowan Chamber of Commerce and Timbermill Wind will be hosting a special Construction Briefing & Vendor Information Breakfast. This event will be an opportunity to hear from members of our construction and development teams on the technical needs of the project and opportunities for local service providers, contractors, and workers to be involved.
Please fill out the form below to RSVP to the event and sign up for our local vendor program. By signing up with our Local Vendor Program, you can ensure that your company's name and contact information will be provided to the primary contractor(s) before they select their subcontractors and crews.
